The maps below show the village of Stokeford in1930 and 2010
The map shows the changes that have taken place at the village of Stokeford during an 80-year period from 1930 to 2010.
It is clear that the biggest change that happened was the number of houses increased dramatically. Additionally, farmland had completely disappeared by 2010.
In 1930, there were a few houses on both sided of the only road which ran through the middle of the village. More streets were built, and housing was extended along the main road in 2010, while the local shops were located in the northeast of the area but it was demolished.
In addition, two areas of farmland to the southeast and northeast of the village were destroyed to make way for residential areas. Meanwhile, the local primary school located opposite the Post office was widened with two blocks. Garden formed the center of the village in 1930 but more houses had been constructed by 2010 on this site and the large house within the grounds was expanded to become a retirement home. The Post Office still remained until 2010.
