In the reading passage, the author calims that the gentic modification, a process though which change the organism's genes, has a variety of advantages by pointing out three reason of support. However, finding all the ideas implausible and questionable, the professor casts doubt on what is persented in the text and states that the scientists do not assured() whether these modified plants are as great as their first condition and demonstrates some evidence to the contrary.
At first, the author argues that the modified speices are more resistance against unfavorabe conditions by bringing up the papaya modified plants as an example. Conversely, the lecturer points out that may be the new plants are more resistence but it is not garauntee their survival. As a matter of fact, when non-modified plants are exposed in adverse circumstances such as insects or bad climate, it is possible() that 1 tree dies, but the rest of them will be capable to survive. Although, if one particualar factor sich as a new pest adds to the modified-trees environments, almost all of them will die since they are not designed for such these atmosphere.
In addition, the reading passage holds the wview that economic advantages can be accounted as other positive consequences of growing the modified-plant. On the other hand, the professor disputes this idea by claryfying that there are some hidden cost in this method. As an example, each time that the farmers intend to grow the seeds they should by them from the compnaies providing them. Therefore, the cost can add up.
Finally, the author asserts that this process hinder overusing of wild trees. The lecturer, though, dismisses it by subscribing to the point that having altered the genes of plants, people render the natural plants more vulnerable. Indeed, these modified plants extract additional soil nutrituent, water and other factor which their abundance is votal for nurturing the natural trees. Consequently, so dense become the natural envoronment with modified plants that no space left for germinating the wild trees.
