The graphs show changes in spending habits of people in the UK between 1971 and 2001.
The pie chart illustrates the percentage of money inhabitants spending on their preferences measured in the United Kingdom during the period of 30 years.
It can clearly be seen that, in the first year of the survey, the cost of petrol made up the highest proportion of the residents’ spending, while books reached the lowest number of the cost British spent on in 2001.
According to the given information, in the year of 1971, 7% was the percentage of computers' expense, which was just about one fifth of that number for petrol (36%). Furthermore, it is noticeable that the figure for the charge of furniture outnumbered that of restaurants (32% and 25%, respectively).
As illustrated, in 2001, British witnessed a significant increase in money paying out for cars (43%), while in 1971, there were no statistics about this. There was a similar pattern of the percentage of how much money spending on furniture and petrol (8%). Besides, restaurants and foods also had a fairly equal proportion of expenditure (14%). Books gained the lowest number of that survey, just 1%.
