The line graph illustrates changes in terms of the amount of fish and three different kinds of meat which people in a European country over a period of 25 years.
Overall, fish was the least popularly used food in the European country from 1979 to 2004. While there were upward trends in the consumption of beef, lamb, and fish, the figure for chicken saw a considerable increase.
As is shown by the graph, nearly 220 grams per person per week of beef was consumed in 1979. Although this figure fluctuated, it remained almost higher than the other kinds of food in the first decade with around 200 grams in 1989, then fell dramatically to just over 100 grams in 2004. Likewise, the country saw a significant decrease regarding the consumption of lamb, fell from 150 grams in 1979 to about 60 grams in 2004. The consumption of fish had a smaller change, starting at about 60 grams in 1979 and went down to reach a low of under 50 grams in 2004.
By contrast, the amount of chicken which was consumed began at under 150 grams in 1979, making it lower than that of beef and lamb. However, throughout the period shown, the figure rose considerably, peaked at roughly 250 grams in 2004.
