The chart below gives information on the percentage of British people giving money to charity by age range for the years 1990 and 2010. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar chart illustrates the proportion of British people donating money to charity by five different age groups for the years 1990 and 2010.
Overall, while the first three age groups (18-25, 26-35, 36-50) received a significant amount of money in 1990, the other two groups obtained much money in 2010. Another interesting feature is that 18-25 age groups collected the lowest amount in the given period in the question.
In 1990, 26-35 and 36-50 age groups were donated by about one-third and two-fifths of the total, compared to 24% and 35% in 2010 respectively. Nearly 18% of British folks contributed money for 18-25 groups in 1990, whereas the figure shrunk to around 6% in 2010, three times lower than the former year.
In contrast, 51-65 and >65 age groups exhibited opposite trends. The percent for 2010 was slightly higher than 1990 as 35% vs 39% for 51-65 and 33% vs 35% for >65 age groups. 39% regarding the 51-65 groups constituted the highest proportion for the year 2010.
