The diagram below shows how the Australian Bureau of Meteorology collects up-to-the-minute information on the weather in order to produce reliable forecasts.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The given diagram illustrates the methods of collecting updated data about weather, by Australian Bureau of Meteorology, with the aim of producing trustworthy forecasts. Overall it can be seen that there are 3 main sources and 3 major steps in attaining the final result: analysing and forecasting, preparing the broadcast and the transmission of the final data.
The first step comprises three main ways of analysing and forecasting, namely the satellite photo, the radar screen and the synoptic chart. Two main sources, a satellite and a radar are interconnected and therefore, they exchange information before sending it, through a satellite photo and on a radar screen, respectively. The synoptic chart contains details received from both the radar and the drifting buoy.
The whole information is then digitally processed and prepared for being broadcast. Finally, the forecasts are transmitted through three important media, namely the television- where it is comprised in a newsreader- radio and recorded announcement.
- The diagrams show a structure that is used to generate electricity from wave power Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant 51
- Some people believe that academic subjects such as chemistry, physics and history should be taught in schools, while others believe that students will derive more benefit from studying practical subjects, such as motor mechanics and cooking. Discuss both 73
- The diagrams below show the design of a wind turbine and its location Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make the comparison where relevant 84
- Competitiveness is a skill that is required in modern society in order to succeed How does competitiveness affect the individual Is it a positive or negative quality 56
