Although you have never formally studied computing, you have always been interested in computers. You have just read about a computer course that really interests you, but it is only for people who have completed an elementary course.
Write a letter to the college enrolment officer. In your letter
explain why you are writing
describe your circumstances
ask if a special exception can be made for you so you can enrol in the course
You do NOT need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows:
Dear
You should write at least 150 words.
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter with regard to the advertisement on the college notice board. I am interested in enrolling myself for the intermediate computer course you offer, in the forthcoming term.
I would like to inform you that I do not hold any certification for the foundation level computing program. Although, I am confident with my sound knowledge of the same.
Being a part-time working, international student, I haven't had the opportunity to take up a professional course, although I hold a keen interest in this subject. Over the past four months, I have managed to acquire the basic skills of computing, by tutoring myself through a few helpful classmates and videos available on the internet.
I request you to make a rare exception and accept my application for your level 2 of computing. I assure you that I would be able to keep up with the syllabus and course-work.
I shall be highly obliged if you do choose to make a consideration in my case. You are free to test my ability in this particular arena and then decide, whether I am a deserving candidate.
Hoping for a quick and favorable response.
Yours Sincerely,
Kathy.
