mass extinction in the end of the triassic period has three reason which was rejected by lecture.
the reading material provide three possible reasons for mass extinction in the end of the Triassic period 200 million years ago. how ever professor rejects each of these reason one by one.
first the author point out that the decline of sea level contribute to mass extinction. however professor refuses this claim by saying that the sea land had the capability of adaptation. so it is correct that a dropping in sea level had proportion in this extinction but it is not enough strong to be considered as a plausible reason.
second the reading says that massive climate cooling has caused the mass extinction. again professor rebutes this reason. professor says it is true that a lot of sulfur dioxide has released by volcanic eruption but in has been in reaction with water in atmosphere and has come back to the earth's surface after a while.it couldn't have stayed for a long time in atmosphere. so it is another unreliable reason.
finally the reading states asteroid strike caused the mass extinction. lecture is in the opposite side. professor declares that the last asteroid collided with earth is related to 12 million years before extinction and apparently i took too long time if it has been the case.
