The line graph illustrates the global water consumption by agriculture, industrial, and domestic sectors, over a 100-year period, whereas the table shows the use of water by the population of Brazil and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Overall, it is apparent that, agriculture is the sector where the highest amount of water is used than the rest of the two given sectors, and the people of Brazil consume more water than the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In 1990, globally the use of water in agriculture was higher than the industrial and domestic sectors, and it was near about 500 Km. The use of water in agriculture increased gradually over next 100 years and reached 5000 km, in 2000. On the other hand, initially the consumption of water in industry and domestic sectors were same, but at the end of the period, water consumption in industrial section surpassed the domestic sector.
The population of Brazil is higher than the Democratic Republic of Congo, and it is 176 million. Similarly, the amount of irrigated land is greater than the Democratic Republic of Congo, that’s why, the water consumption by a single individual in Brazil is about 44% higher than the Democratic republic of Congo.
