The line graph illustrates the money in dollars spent on books in different countries namely Germany, France, Italy, and Austria over a period of ten years from 1996 to 2005
Overall, all of those nations increased in spending of money on books over the period. In addition, the amount of money spent on books by German was highest.
In 1995, $80 million was spent on books in Germany. The expenditure on books in Franch and Italy were similar, at $55 million and $50 million, respectively, whereas the figure for Austria was much lower at just $30 million. Despite some fluctuation, the spending figure for Germany continued to be higher than in other countries during the given period, which reached a peak of around $95 million in 2005.
There was a dramatic rise in spending money on books from $55 million to $75 million while the figure for Italy gradually increased to just $60 million during 10 years. In Austria, spending on books rose the most dramatically between 1995 and 2005
