if this portrait for Jane or not?

Essay topics:

if this portrait for Jane or not?

The reading and the listening sections both talk about the painting that shows Jane, one of the most famous English novelists. The reading passage claims that there are good reasons to believe that she is the subject of the canvas when she was a teenager. While the listening refutes that by providing many convincing reasons.
First of all, the reading talks about Jane's family, that they gave permission to use the portrait as an illustration in an edition of her letters. The professor in the lecture counters this by saying that Jane died from 70 years ago, so her family members have never seen her before.
In addition to that, the reading claims that the face of the portrait resembles one of Cassandras sketch, which depicts Jane. The sketch defines details about Auston face, similar in the face trait nearly and in the same age, teenager juncture. The lecturer claims that this canvas could be for one of her relatives because her family was extended, there were many teenager girls from them like her niece Marry.
Finally, the reading says that the canvas was unsigned and undated, so there is evidence that she was a teenager, when it was painted, also the artist who taught that he drew the canvas lived in the same period when she was a teenager. While the listening counters that by saying the date when the canvas sold by William, who did not sell it in London shows that this canvas painted when her age was about 72 years old not when she was a teenager.
