By contrast, the average house prices in Madrid and Frankfurt slightly increased, by around 2 percent and 3 percent respectively.
Between 1996 and 2002, the house prices considerably increased compared to that from 1990 to 1995. The house cost in New York in this period was 5 percent, which is higher than in 1989, while the figure for Madrid also increased by 4 percent, being lower than New York. In London, the house prices significantly increased from declining by 7 percent in the first period to rising by 11 percent in the next 5 years compared with 1989.
