You have seen an advertisement in an English newspaper for a job working in the City Museum shop during the holidays. You decide to apply for the job.
Write a letter to the director of the Museum. In your letter,
introduce yourself
explain what experience and special skills you have
explain why you are interested in the job
Dear Sir,
My name is Jane Doe and I am studying Arts in the University of Melbourne. I am writing you this letter in reference to the advertisement for a job vacancy in the city museum shop. I am very interested in this job and would like to submit my resume for your reference.
As an arts student I have fair knowledge of the history. I have also visited the city museum during school trips and prepared projects and presentation on the sculptures and paintings displayed. In addition, I am an avid painter myself and can explain the details to the visitors and I believe these skills definitely gives me an edge over the other candidates.
Since I aspire to become an artist one day and have a keen desire to learn and explore more, the City Meusem would be the best place to work and learn further where I can pursue and enjoy my work to the fullest. I also believe that city museum is the best museum in the town in terms of maintainance, variety of art and sculpture and the guides.
I would be delighted to have a oppurtunity to render my services.Hope to receive a positive response.
Your's Sincerely,
Jane Doe
