The chart below shows the different levels of post-school qualifications in Australia and the proportion of men and women who held them in 1999
The graph given compares the proportion of five difference degree which was held by both sexes in Australia in 1999. Overall, it can be seen that undergraduate diploma and bachelor degree were among the top list of females holding-degree, meanwhile, diploma, postgraduate diploma, and master degree were shared the highest proportion of holding-degree by males. Moving to detail, among the males, the highest proportion of degree obtained was skilled vocational diploma (90%). both sexes shared the similar proportion on two categories, which were undergraduate diploma and postgraduate diploma, approximately 70%. In addition, the lowest degree obtained by males and females was undergraduate diploma and skilled vocational diploma, while the former was 10% and the latter was 36%. In addition, among the five post-school qualifications shown, it is clear that males outnumbered female, except for Bachelor’s degree which was females had the larger proportion compared to males, 54% and 45% respectively.
