The pie graphs compare electricity production by five different fuels in New Zealand and Germany between 1980 and 2010.
Overall, while the electricity, in Germany, is mainly generated by nuclear power, the most popular source was coal in New Zealand. Besides, the total unit's creation increased in both countries throughout 30 years.
In New Zealand, the total number rose quickly from 127 units (1980) to 200 units (2010). During this time, the figure for coal dramatically increased from 56 to 150 units, which accounted for the three-fourths of electricity creation. While the number of hydro stayed the same proportion (nearly 25%), the figure for natural gas and petroleum dropped rapidly from 30 units and 11 units (1980) to 2 units (2010), respectively.
In Germany, the number of nuclear, which did not have in New Zealand, grew significantly from 20 units (1980) to 155 units (2010). The numbers of coal, petroleum, natural gas, hydro decreased from 28,22,28 and 7 units (1980) to a combined figure which was less than nearly three times the figure of nuclear (2010). Besides, the total number climbed double to 214 units (2010).
