different types of digital games between 2000 and 2006.
The bar chart depicts the information of four different digital games being sold globally from 200 to 2006. Units are used in billions of dollars.
In general, handheld games stayed out the most as being the highest grossing games over the period given. However, in 6 years we can easily see the growth consumption of both mobile phone and online games while the console version saw a gradually decrease.
Initially, handheld games witnessed a sharp elevation as the figures for it jumped from below 12 to the peak of 18 billion dollars. Similar to this pattern, there was a upward trend of the online games despite the total amount of money earned in the first year was insignificant. At the end of the timeframe, approximately 8 billions of dollars are earned by this particular digital games.
By contrast, with regards to the total amount of console games earned in 7 years, there had been a moderate decline. This one type of games started off with beneath 6 billion dollars grossing in 2000 but end with only half of that in 2006.
