The map below shows the outline of the village named Chorleywood from 1868 to 1994.
Overall, four different periods of development are shown on the map, and the village was constructed with three types of transportation.
Between 1868 and 1883, Park and Golf course were located in the center of the village, and the main roads were also built in the north and the west of Chorleywood. The village Station was added in the southwest of the center from 1883 to 1922 when the Railway was built across the Station and the western main road in the south in 1909.
The expansion of Chorleywood continued on each side of the Station until 1970. At that time, the Motorway, which went across the northern main road and railway, was built in the east of the village. Besides, further development of the village took place around the motorway intersection with the railway and one of the main roads from 1970 to 1994.
