say what progress you are making
describe the study methods and any materials you are using
say what you find most difficult
Dear John,
I am writing to tell you about progress on my english studies for which I have been studying hard for quite a long time. I have completed first thirteen chapters out of eighteen which includes english language grammar, advanced vocabulary and some basic rules of it. Apart from this, some common topic essays submitted by me to my instructor last week and I awarded good marks.
I am following the Cambridge guide of english language which has systematic study material to learn english. In this book, there are some practice material which provides opportunity to check our knowledge. I try to attempt all questions from exercise book and then match answers with keys available in the end of the book.
It seems quite easy to learn english but there are Gerunds and Adjective chapters which I found little difficult due to it’s unstructured rules. Moreover, I am still struggling while writing long essays with 1000 words and more. I would like to ask you about any further suggestion which you could give me after reading this letter.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,
Jay
