Both the reading and the lecture discuss chevalier memoir. The article states that all the memoires are lie and Chevalier got them made and provides three reason of support. However, the professor explains that his memoirs are truth and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the reading claims that albeit he was wealthy person and spent a main times on gambling and parties, but the chevalier borrow sums of money from a merchant. The professor opposes this point by saying that when the chevalier sells, so waits for money. In fact, waiting for own money and maybe loan money from merchant until his asserts convert into money. The chevalier also states that when he ran out of cash he should borrow money.
Second, the article posits that there are doubtful clues about conversation between the chevalier and the famous writer. On the contrary, the professor says that when the chevalier after a conversation came back home, immediately he wrote all of that conversation. According to the professor, actually, the chevalier kept all of that notes and wrote the memoires based on that notes.
Third, the reading states that critics are skeptical about the chevalier escaping from Venice's prison. Additionally, critics say that the Chevalier's jailers were bribed to free him. The professor casts doubt on this point by explaining that since the chevalier escaped from the prison, the prison got repaired.
