The table below shows the consumer durables (telephone, refrigerator, etc.) owned in Britain from 1972 to 1983.

The table provides information about the percentages of households with different type of consumer durables owned in Britain between 1972 and 1983. Overall, all types of households increased.

At the beginning, television and the vacuum cleaner was the majority which accounted for 93% and 87% respectively. At the end of the period, television still the majority and refrigerator became the majority which was 98% and 94% respectively. For the least part of households was central heating in 1972 and dishwasher in 1983 both accounted below 5%. It can be seen that dishwasher exist since 1978 and video exist since 1983 which were below 18% so both are not significant to the consumer. However, central heating rose sharply, from 3% rising to 64% during the period. In contrast, television rose steadily, from 93% rising to 98% during the period. Finally, all consumer durables are increased.
