Overall, it is noticeable that the Internet had significantly increased its figures for working and studying over the period, whereas in communication and entertainment considerably declined.
The main function of the internet in Japan was dominant for working and studying which began the period with roughly a third of its total and about a quarter respectively. The trend continued to grow until the end year given to nearly half of it's overall and just above a quarter respectively.
The Japanese made used the internet for entertainment with data from just nearly a quarter and above a tenth of its total in the last 10 years. This marked the third-highest point among the four categories from 1995 to 2005. In terms of communication, it had only nearly a fifth of the total from the beginning, and the percentage end up the period to almost the same value of entertainment, a tenth of the total.
