The line chart gives information about how goods transported in the UK over 28-year period, starting from 1974.
Overall, it can be seen that this period experienced a growth in the quantity of goods in all transportation methods except rail. Besides, road was the most transport used to deliver the goods in the same period.
The figure for Road stood at 70 million tonnes in 1974, which later then increased significantly to 100 million tonnes in 2002. This number was 70 million tonnes as high as that for Pipeline. In contrast, between 1974 from 2002 witnessed a slight grow in the figure for Pipeline, from 5 to 20 million tonnes.
In 1974, Water and Rail has the similar figure for quantity of goods. While this period underwent a moderate rise in water’s figure from 40 to 65 million tonnes, the figure for rail still remained unchanged.
