The lecturer cast doubt on the main point made in reading by providing three reasons.
To begin with, the author argues that due to the internet we have become less adventurous, more cautious and less likely to define ourselves by our own experiences. Howbeit, This argument is challenged by the lecturer. He claims that due to the internet the knowledge of the school student is increasing. Furthermore, he mentions that students are abreast due to use of the internet.
Secondly, According to the reading internet has had an adverse effect on our short-term attention spans and our ability to focus on the task. Nevertheless, the lecturer rebuts the claim of the author by mentioning that due to use of internet, the level of the IQ is increasing which shows that there are increases in the number of smarter people.
Finally, the author posits that the internet often removes the need for critical thinking. Nonetheless, Lecturer belives that the critical thinking of the students is increased as compared with the earlier era and reason for such increases is given to internet. He also feels that Now, students know about the chapter in advance,they will read in the class. Moreover, he says that the level of intelligency is increases in the modern world and this is because of the internet.
