A friend who lives in another country has invited you to come and stay with him/her on your next holiday. You are too busy to accept the invitation. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter,
Thank him/her for the invitation
Explain why you can not come
Ask him about other times to visit
Dear Aleesha,
I am writing to tell you that I was pleasantly surprised to receive your invitation. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to visit you during summer holidays as I’ll be extremely busy shifting to my new apartment.
Let me explain you my situation in detail. Recently, I changed my job and my new office is located far away from my current accommodation. As a result, every day I reach home exhausted and I am unable to cook or do anything else. I discussed this with my manager and he was kind enough to provide me an apartment in one of the company’s living facilities. Since, currently it is very difficult for me to move because of my hectic work routine, I decided to relocate during the summer holidays when workload will be less and I will be able to take a few days leave from work.
Could you let me know of another time when you would be free so that I can come and visit you. I think Christmas would be a great time as I would get ten days off and I believe it would be the same for you. Moreover, the weather would be great in your city and so we can go for paragliding and cliff diving.
Please let me know.
Your friend,
Noora
