the process of generation of electricity
The chart illustrates how electricity is generated at a hydro-power station.
Overall, it is observed that it is a cyclical process. It starts with the collection of water in a dam followed by an opening of a valve that creates speedy flow towards the turbines to generate electricity.
Now turning towards the details of steps, it is witnessed that at first water gets accumulated in the reservoir on which a dam is constructed. Then, the valve which plays a vital role is opened during the day to allow water to gush towards the reversible turbines. After hitting the turbines, power is produced which passes through various power lines to the national grid. Finally, the national grid supplies electricity to villages, hospitals, and other towns.
Nevertheless, the remaining water flows to the low-level reservoir and during the night it is pumped back to the high-level reservoir followed by closing up the valve to follow the same step the next day.
