Development plan in the city
The lecture and reading speak about the city planner's proposal to develope the land between the lake and the bay.
In the lecture, critic is part of citizens group people who to protest the proposal and then, describes some reasons to oppose the plan. Generally, the statement points in the reading is contrast with clues of lecture.
First, the lecture states that the development plan would destroy the view and critics want to preserve the land as a park for entire community to enjoy. Second, the speech mentioned that the proposed new housing would be benefit only upper income people. This opposes with point in the reading that the project will help to solve city's need for mor residential space for construct new housing and expand the city.
Furthermore, in the lecture critic states the plan would helpful only a few people economically at the expense of the environment. In the contrary, the point in the reading explain that the project will precious the city economically in several ways.
