You heard there is a job to guide tourists in your town for a travel company.
Write a letter to the company. In your letter:
• How (where) you heard about this job.
• Why you think you are suitable for this job.
• Ask some questions about this job
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am Harry Martin, a resident of Greenwich Avenue. Today morning, I read in local newspaper about a vacancy of tour-guide in your travel company. I have keen interest in this job offer and writing this letter about the same.
I have done bachelor degree course in Mass media and along with that I have a certificate of travel and tourism training course. I had worked with Tripadvisor for last five years and due to my relocation to this new city I quit my job. I am a proficient English speaker and additionally I am a fluent mandarin speaker which is a pre-requisite for this job. I think my educational background, work-experience and foreign language skill makes me well deserving candidate for this job.
It would be really appreciated, if you clear few of my doubts related to the job offer, firstly, I wanted to ask that is food and stay provided by organisation in case of multi-days tours. Will I get extra pay for extra working hours.
For your reference,I have enclosed a copy of my résumé with this letter. I hope you will find me an aspirant candidate for this work. Looking forward for a positive revert from you soon.
Yours Sincerely
Harry Martin
