A glance at these provided pie charts reveals the amount of fuel source used in both Australia and France from 1980 to 2000.
It is obvious that during the period shown both the total electricity production in both Australia and France saw a noticeable rise. Although their total units was similar, the figure for each fuel source was a noticeable exception.
The largest segment in the pie chart of Australia in 1980 belonged to coal with 50 units following by natural gas, hydropower, and nuclear power with 20, 20 and 10 units, respectively. In 2000, the units of electricity by coal rose rapidly by 80 units and continued ranking first. Meanwhile, the figure for nuclear power in France increased up to nine times from 15 units in 1980 to 126 units in 2000.
In 1980, electricity production by coal and gas shared a comparable figure with exactly 25 units and ranked first in France. At the end of the period in France, while figure for coal saw a modest growth to 25 units as same as that for oil, units of natural gas and hydropower fell to the minimum level with only 2 units. Meanwhile, in Australia, the figure for hydro-power also increased to 36 units; by contrast, that for both oil and natural gas decreased to the minimum level at 2 units.
