The table below gives information about the underground railway systems in six cities.
The table describes the undercover railway systems of six diverse metropolitan cities from four different countries.
The data reveal the year when the networks were established, the distance of each railway, and the number of annual travelers.
London is the initial city where subways were established in 1863, followed by Paris almost four decades later. Tokyo, Paris and London carry far more passengers on a yearly basis in comparison to Los Angeles, Kyoto and Washington.
One interesting fact is that although Los Angeles, Kyoto, and Washington are the newest subways they have the least amount of annual riders. In addition the three cities with the shortest distance of subways also have the least amount of passengers. Conversely, the cities with longest subways have the most clients.
In short, the newer subways with the shortest distances have fewer customers. In contrast, the older subways with longer distances attract the largest number of commuters.
