A comparison of three different crimes in England and Wales between 1970 and 2005, during 35 years is presented in the line chart.
In 1970, the number of car theft was the biggest proportion with 0.4 million, while house burgling crime showed a twofold bellow the previous (0,2 million), but both of these crimes increased dramatically in 1990. However, the ones of street robbery remained reasonably steady, and this was the lowest crime during the first five years with around 0.1 million.
By 2005, a sharply increase had seen in car theft crime by 0.8 million, also the same situation had shown in the proportion of street robbery, but the one of car theft declined dramatically until the end of the period, while proportion in street robbery showed reverse. There was a slight decline in house burgling crime with 0.3 million in the last year.
Overall, the entire crimes rose significantly during the period, but car theft crime was the most popular crime in England and Wales.
