The table describes the employment structure for men and women in New Zealand.

Overall, it is clear that in both years more women were gainfully employed in services and transport sectors, whereas the number men in social services remained the least.

In the first year (1993), more women got jobs in services and transport (53), manufacturing(25) and social services (13) respectively, while men were gainfully employed in agriculture (38) business (7) and building (12). It is worthy to note that no woman was given appointment in building sector.

However in 2003, the number of women employed in business increased significantly to 22 as well as men 25 . There was also a dramatic reduction in the total number of men that worked in agriculture (7). Furthermore, 6 women got employment in building. Inaddition, the number of women that worked in social services remained high (18) while men that secured employment in social services was low (9).
