The chart shows the annual GDP growth rates in 3 countries from 2007 to 2010.

Compared in the bar chart are the yearly rates of GDP growth in Tunisia, Japan and Ecuador between 2007 and 2010.

It is evident that while Japan enjoyed an upward trend in its GDP growth rate over the course of the recorded years, whereas the remaining nations experienced a downward trend. Moreover, Tunisia’s leading position was overtaken by Japan in the second half of the period.

In 2007, at over 6%, Tunisia had the highest GDP growth rate among the three surveyed countries. It was followed by Ecuador in second place, at slightly above 3%, while Japan only recorded 2%. Just one year later, Japan and Ecuador’s GDP growth rate both increased by approximately 2 percentage points; however, Tunisia saw a drop of similar magnitude in its figures.

The spell between 2008 and 2010 marked growth in Japan’s figures, ultimately concluding at 6.5%, whereas the rates for Tunisia fell steadily, recording only half of its 2007 figure in 2010. As for Ecuador, after peaking in 2008, its rates plunged to barely more than 1% in 2009. However, 2010 saw recovery for this Latin American country, which recorded a rate of 2%.
