The given chart illustrates how has energy been consumed in Ameria from 1980 with predictions until 2030. Unit are measured in quadrillion.
Overall, fossil fuels have been the dominant type and will continue this trend in the future. On the contrary, the popularity of hydropower has been low and experts said that it would become most unpopular energy in last years.
In 1980, petrol and oil accounted for the biggest share with 35 Quadrillion units. The figure for them witnessed a slightly upward fluctuation and stood at under 50 quadrillion in 2030. A relatively similar pattern could be seen in the figure for coal, which started at roughly 16 quadrillion and its ending point was about 30 quadrillion. Although natural gas was more popular than coal at the outset, the consumption of it was less than coal 4 quadrillion units in 2030.
Three less favourable types of energy in the US were consumed about 4 quadrillion units in 1980. Over the period of time, Americans have been use more nuclear and solar energy, the consumption of them would be more than 5 quadrillion and exactly 5 quadrillion respectively in 2030, while only about 3 quadrillion hydropower would be used.
