The Table below shows the results of a survey that asked 6800 Scottish adults (aged 16 years and over) whether they had taken part in different cultural activities in the past 12 months.
The table gives information about a survey where 6800 Scotish students above the age of 16 were surveyed about their participation on various cultural activities within the past 1 year.
Overall, a lot of people participated on performances including dancing, singing, playing music and acting where adults between the age 16-24 accounted for the highest percentage. However, activities based on computers had the least number of participants.s
As the table shows, about 35% of people between the age 16-24 participated in dancing and singing while the least participants were from the age of 45-74(17%). Surprisingly, people from the same group, 16-24 and 25-44 equally participated in undertaking crafts and cultural purchasing activity which was 11% and 17% respectively.
Regarding visual arts, 30% of adults between 16-24 took an active participation whereas the lowest participation was from people of the age 47-74 which was 11%. Similarly, in writing and computer based tasks, the same age group category took significant proportion of participation(17%) while participation of remaining age groups ranged between 5% to 9% only.
