The reading discusses the possibility of sending humans to Mars, and it mentioned there are some problems. The author listed three factors to support this idea. However, the speaker finds all the reasons unconvincing and presents some evidence to refute all of them.
First, the reading passage proposes that round-trip to Mars takes at least two years hence, carrying the cargo like food and water for this time is difficult. In contrast, the speaker states that they can use the hydroponic method to cultivate the plants in spacecraft. It also helps them to recycle the wastewater, produce oxygen and absorb CO2. As a result, this idea is rebutted.
Furthermore, the reading passage points out that astronauts are in the zero-gravity on Mars and it has a negative impact on the human body. On the contrary, the speaker casts doubt on this issue by standing that they can do regular exercise to protect their muscles or take some vitamins and mineral material to prevent this negative effect.
Last but not least, the author describes that astronauts on a mission would be exposed to dangerous space radiation. On the other hand, in obviously contradicts with the reading passage, the author declares that the radiation is not always on a dangerous level. Besides, they can avoid it using some instruments to monitor the radiation and use shielded cover to protect themselves in the dangerous level and pass it. Thus, the speaker dismisses all the reasons one after another.
