The diagrams below show the design for a wave-energy machine and its location.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The Given picture depicts a machine which generates electricity using tides and also the location of the machine. This technology uses waves and its ability to rotate the turbine, which generates current.
Overall, a wave-energy machine has two chambers, one is submerged under water and other is above the water level. The lower part has a hollow space with a inlet for the waves and upper part has a couple of turbines, multiple air passages and an electricity generator.
The machine is placed facing the wave direction, the lower compartment is in contact with the tides, with the alternating pattern of tides water level, air flow varies and it flows to the upper chamber via air passages and powers the turbines and once the turbines are powered, air is discharged from the upper compartment.
The rotation of the turbines is coupled to an electricity generator, which inturn converts the mechanical energy of turbines into current. There are 2 locations for setting up this machine, one near the shore which has tiny waves and construction expenses are low with low energy output whereas deep sea has bigger waves with construction expenses are high with high energy output.
