Many people are now spending more and more time travelling to work or school, some people believe that this has negative development while others think there are some benefits. Discuss both view and give your opinion.
In many countries, especially the developed ones, commuting is reportedly much more time-consuming than the last few decades. While many people support the idea that it can only bring negative effects, numerous others lean more on its merit. From my perspective, commuting has both advantages and drawbacks
To begin with, there is a variety of benefits that longer trips to work or school brings. First and foremost, it is a suitable time for self-reflection. There seem to be shreds of evidence that people nowadays are too hectic and always up to their ears. Therefore, driving to work can be an excellent recreational activity for them to unwind and re-energize themselves. Furthermore, commuting by public means of transportation is a valuable opportunity to pursue several interests. Reading, movie watching or even taking a nap, to mention but a few. Another advantage of increasing traveling time is to diminish the pressure on urbanization. Living far from workplaces or academies to some extent may synonymous with dwelling on the outskirts or in the countryside, which irrefutably eases the demand of population in the hustle and bustle downtown areas. On the other hand, it may boost the development of services and create numerous occupations in these places.
Nevertheless, the disadvantage the raising time traveling to and fro should not be underestimated. First of all, traveling for such a long time can be quite fatiguing both mentally and physically. Driving tasks undoubtedly required alertness and highly concentration since a small mistake can lead to terrible traffic pile-up. In the second place, longer driving time may be jacking up the transportation fees. Various families are struggling to pay for expenses such as gasoline or the warranty costs, which may lead them to fall into financial challenges. This tendency, together with the increase in prices, are added more weights into low-income workers and students who depends on their parents
To sum up, the longer traveling time is the inevitable consequence of reducing pressure on urban development and it is the right time for self-interests. But it also can lead to mental and physical worn out and several financial burdens for lower classes.
