The chart below gives information about the growth of urban population in Africa, Asia, Latin America whole world in 1950, 2000, and predicts the future in 2030
Overall, the proportion of the population living in city in 2000 is much higher than those in 1950 and those could rose more in 2030.
In 1950, the proportion of the population of Africa is the lowest with only over 10%, while proportion of Latin America is the highest with over 40%. By 2000, nearly half of the world lives in towns and city. The proportion of Latin America rose dramatically.
In 1950, the proportion was 40% much higher than other areas, and increased continuously to 70% in 2000 and being predicted to rise at 80% in 2030. On the other hand, Africa and Asia share the same trend in 1950 and 2000. They just have a little difference in the proportion in 2030 over 50% in Africa and nearly 60% in Asia.
