A glance at the graph illustrates the data about the percentage of elderly population in three nations ( USA, Sweden and Japan)
It is clear that all three countries experienced population aging, with people aged 65 and over comprising rather a big propotion of population in 2040
Having a closer look at the detail, USA began with figure recorded to be the highest among three nations( about 10%) while Japan started at the lowest point ( just about 5%). During the next 20-year-period, USA and Sweden witnessed an upsurge in the percentage, with 15% and 14% respectively, whereas Japan underwent a gradual decline.
From 1980 to 2020, the situation changed when Swenden aged population number overtook USA in 1990 after both it and USA recorded a decrease. Japan still recieved the lowest proportion but in its trend of increase.
Since 2030 onwards, all three countries expect a massive soar in the percentage. Rise in elderly population of Japan will be the most noticable ( go from 10% to 27%, almost two times more than the other two) and reach 2040 at the highest place.
