Asteroids.
Nowadays people are concerned about how to make profits and could go much farthest place even an asteroid to attain it. The reading is about the idea that settlement of people on asteroids because it is very convenient and much profitable than any other planet. How ever, the lecturer challenges the claims made by the author and elucidates in subsequent paragraphs.
First of all, the reading states that the asteroids have low gravity which makes it easier to land, take off, and need less fuel for the return trip to earth. On the other hand, the professor claims that though it makes it easier to land and take off it is not a practical idea because people have to face certain risks being there on asteroids. For instance, due to low gravity, people will lose muscle mass and bone density and have to challenge many health-related complications. For this purpose, the lecturer thinks it is not a good idea.
Furthermore, the author says that as asteroids are rich in mining valuable metals they could make more profit when they sell them on the earth. On the contrary, the lecturer conveys that even though the asteroid colony supply with valuable metals to the earth there is no guarantee that they could make more money on the earth by selling them. Additionally, he states that when there is much availability of metals in the market they could sell at a lower price. This is why the lecturer thinks they cannot make many profits.
Finally, from the author's point of view, the asteroids are easy to colonize, and also it would be more affordable to get in those asteroids as they come closer to the earth. However, the man in the lecture explains that though the asteroids come close to the earth it doesn't stay close to it but travels far from the earth may be away from the mars too.he also mentions that it could be a challenging situation for people and not that easy to return from. This is how he mentions this unusual activity of asteroids which is unpredictable.
To sum up, asteroids are not good for health, we cannot predict the profit and also it's not easy to return back to the earth.
