To begin with, the author in reading passage points that the use of pesticides around the area, which would threaten population of frog. And the government has to prohibit using pesticides. In the lecture, however, the professor opposes the statement given by author by a reason that setting up laws is not a economical way, since it is unfair for people who live near the area frog living to experience decline in yield of crop and competitive force in market.
In addition, the author also suggests that the problem is fungus, so only do people treat frogs on a large scale, the frog population is unlikely to decline. Nonetheless, the lecture indicate the solution is unpractical due to the fact that treatment has to be applied on each frog because it is extremely difficult to catch each frog and treat them. Moreover, the treatment will not affect their offspring so that people must treat again and again, which is significantly expensive and complicated.
Finally, the author expresses that the activities like wetlands development and use of excessive water have a negative effects on population of frog. Nevertheless, the professor contends the fact that the activities of people are not important problem for decline in the number of frog, but global warming which caused most species to die out and also prohibiting using water and build near frogs' habitats is not likely to eliminate the negative effects of global warming.
