Task 1: You work for an international company, and would like to spend six months working in its head office in another country. Write a letter to your manager.
In your letter:
• explain why you want to work in the company’s head office for six months
• say how your work could be done while you are away
• ask for his/her help in arranging it
Dear Madam,
I am writing this letter to share my interest to work in our Company’s Head Office at London for six months.
Last month, I completed five years in your esteemed organisation. My performance ratings for the last three years have been outstanding and consecutively for this period, I have been awarded with the Employee of the Month. As per the policy, I am meeting the criteria to be the most suitable candidate amongst the three others in the list.
Also, the roles and responsibilities that I am taking care of are mostly online. I can easily contact our clients remotely through the internet. Hence, my present work will not suffer as I will fulfil all my duties diligently through mails, messages and calls. No doubt there will be a time difference of four and a half hours, but that will not be a concern. So, this will neither hamper my availability nor my work.
I would request you to please consider this request and assist me in taking this forward from the office.
Yours faithfully,
