The maps below show the changes in a town in Europe after the construction of a hydroelectric power dam. Describe the noticeable changes in the maps
The pictures indicate the transformation of a European town from 1990 to 2010.
Looking at the maps, we can see that the town underwent extensive changes from a rural area into a more modernized town with the construction of a system of electric poles and a hydroelectric dam.
As can be observed, the river at the town center in 1990 was diminished in length to make way for the lake on the town's northern side. The river extended to the south, and the hydroelectric dam was erected at the end of the river. Along the river banks, the place of mountain areas 10 years ago, settled the electric poles.
The electric system’s existence turned the town into a modernized area compared to 1990. However, there was no room for rare plants and animals, and irrigated farmlands near the river in 1990 were also removed to make room for the lake. With the demolishing of the forest and ancient structures, the land on the northwest was left empty in 2010. The residents' accommodations were replaced with a hotel, while the villages were then relocated near the river and the electric pole system.
