The table illustrates the top ten most populated countries of the world in 2019 and also shows the prediction for the same by 2100. Population figures are showed in millions.
Overall, the combined population of the top ten countries will increase in 2100. Currently China and India sits on the top of the charts with population over a billion. However, in 2100 India will overtake China and will be the sole country with more than a billion population. Three new nations will join the top ten list which are D.R. Congo, Ethiopia and Tanzania taking the place of Bangladesh, Russia and Mexico in 2100.
In 2019, India and China had almost same population (nearly 1400 million) which was more than three times the next populated country that was the U.S.A with a population of 331 million. After that Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil and Nigeria had their population in 200’s (274, 221, 213 and 206 respectively), whereas Bangladesh, Russia and Mexico rounded up the last places in the top ten list with a population close to 150 million.
In future by 2100, India’s population is estimated to cross 1.5 billion mark whereas China’s population will plummet to around 900 million. With a drastic rise of almost 500 million Nigeria will take the third spot. The USA despite increase in its population will drop down to fourth place followed by Pakistan, D.R. Congo and Indonesia all having population approximately 300 million. Ethiopia, Tanzania and Brazil completes the list with the figures of 212,178 and 177 million respectively.
