The bar chart illustrates top ten nations of the world leading in electricity production and consumption for the year 2014. Measurement unit is KWh.
Overall, all the countries are producing more electricity than they are consuming only except Germany. China and the USA are at the top of the charts and their electricity consumption and production is way more than the other countries (almost 4 to 5 times) whereas rest of the countries in the top ten list have almost same consumption and production.
China is on the top of the list with almost 5400 billion Kwh units of production as well as consumption, USA is also not far behind having produced and consumed nearly 4000 billion Kwh in 2014 which is 4 times the next contender in the list i.e. Russia. Russia is closely followed by Japan and India who have almost same electricity needs (around 900 billion Kwh).
Nations that form up the bottom half of the list are Canada, France, Brazil, Germany and Korea, Rep. and they all are having nearly same demand of electricity which is close to 500 billion Kwh.
