The diagrams below show the design for a wave-energy machine and its location.
The given diagram details the structural mechanism of a wave-energy machine along with providing a description of different installation sites for the same.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the entire system consists of two chambers, airflow inlets, and outlets, and turbine connectivity to produce electricity. Also, two different scenarios of location sites based on small and large waves.
According to the given illustration, the lower chamber opens up in the direction of the wave to allow the water to fill up to the desired level. Further, it has two inlets to allow the exchange of air. Similar inlets are installed in the upper chamber as well. Also, a turbine that rotates to produce electricity is connected to an electricity generator via a connecting rode.
Turning to location options, there are mainly two types of wave-energy machines depending on the installation cost. The first category works with low-level waves and hence comes out to be cheaper as compared to the high output machine, which runs using larger waves, leading to a high construction cost.
