Dear Mr. Smirnov,
I am Mariya V from the cartographic department and have been working for our company as GIS-analyst since 2016. Recently, I was promoted to the Head of the department with a crew of 30 people in it. As a result, my load of responsibilities is significantly increased. Today, I am in charge of not only a couple of projects but also I have to manage and coordinate all projects of the department, which requires great management skills.
Even though I have all necessary skills for my new role, after 2 weeks of my promotion I have realized that I am not particularly sure how to reduce risk of some important decisions that have to be made on a daily basis.
In my opinion, it will be highly effective and useful if I attend a short intensive course in New York business school that was specially designed for acquiring management skills such as risk assessment and decision-making skills.
