Artificial sweetener
In this set of material, reading and lecture was both about Sucralose, an artificial sweetner, the writer strongly postulates that people use Sucralose for weight loss that posit dangerous impacts on human health, and provides three reasons to endorse it's idea. On the other hand, the lecturer mentions that studies have shown that particular sweetner is extremely safe and could be used for weight loss, and gainsays each of arguments from the reading.
First and foremost, the writer begins by asserting that Scientific research has shown that sucralose use has caused the shrinkage of mice thymus, therefore its is not safe for humans to use that weetner. The lecturer dismisses that point by insisting that when the study performed on was closely monitored, it was discovered that only taking high concerntration of sucralose results in damage to thymus. He exemplify that the dose of 4000 packets per day for about a month would have serious consequnces otherwise its not harmful.
Furthermore, the speakers contradicts the organochlorine comment by pointing out that though many other organochlorine compounds could cause toxic effect as they absorbs in the stomach and stored in the fatty tissue, it is not toxic to use sucralose. Since it does not digest efficiently in digestive tract and does nor build up in fats. these claims clearly refutes the writer implication that because sucralose in copmounded with chlorine, it would be toxic to plants and humans.
Ultimately, the writer wraps its arguments by stating that replacing artifical sweetner would not help to reduce weight as people are indulged to eat sweet and sugery stuff after eating sweetner. Consequently, they gain more weight. Not surprisingly, the lecturer takes an issue with that by cotending that unlike other sweetners sucralose does not break up after heating. Hence, people can continue using them in their baking soch as cakes and cookies. Moreover they can keep their diet on track too by that.
