The pie charts illustrate the proportion of workers in manufacturing, sales and services sectors in both towns at intervals of fifty years between 1960 and 2010.
It is clear that town A saw the greatest increase in the percentage of people working in the services, while that of employees in the manufacturing in town B had the highest percentage comparison with other sectors.
In the year 1960, the town A experienced the highest percentage of workers in the manufacturing, account for 41% following by sales and services sectors, with 30% and 29% respectively. Nevertheless, the majority of employees at manufacturing in town B is by far higher than the proportion of those working at manufacturing in town A. Besides, the figure for sales and services were lower, at 20% and 10% respectively.
By 2010, there was a significant decrease in the rate of workers in the manufacturing in both towns, most noticeably in town A, fall at 20%. On the other hand, the figure for people working in services sector rise quickly, at 64% in town A and 25% in town B. Finally, a moderate shrink in the percentage of employees was recorded for the sales sector in town A, while that of those working at sales sector in town B and larger percentage comparison with town A, at 22%.
