12. Your school has enough money to purchase either computers for students or books for the library. Which should your school choose to buy – computers or books?
Without a shadow of a doubt, both computers and books are essential to conduce a better grasping of knowledge for students. If my school had enough money to buy computers for students or books for the library, I would recommend buying computers for the following reasons.
First of all, a computer will allow students to access the Internet, which is system of global network extremely useful for studying. Not only does the Internet gives students the chances to search for information much quicker but also provide them with thousands of online courses and learning websites. Students can use these websites to revise their lessons, improve their knowledge, download related exercises and get useful learning materials. Apart from that, the Internet also has a lot of advancing features. Students can easily ask questions by joining study groups on social networking sites as well as finding out more information to broaden their horizon as well as illustrate their projects.
Secondly, using a computer can save a lot of time and efforts. Running to a library to look up information wastes much time, but just with a mouse click, students can find that piece of information immediately. They also do not have to carry heavy books to their class when doing group work but can use their computers to do all of the tasks from searching for facts to designing their presentation.
Last but not least, nowadays, teachers usually ask students to finish an assignment or homework and then give it to the teacher to check for any deficiency. This can be done quickly by emailing. Also, computers are extremely beneficial for distant learning. For example, during the coronavirus crisis, despite the constant disruptions in schooling, students could still maintain their study by attend lectures with the help of such applications as Zoom, Meet or Microsoft Team.
To recapitulate, I believe buying computers for students would be more benficial than buying books for the library. Using computers can help students in unlimited ways and the information that students will get is extremely efficient and helpful because they can get wide range of information in a short time, which can be stored and emailed.
